malikhan@awkum.edu.pk Dr. Muhammad Ali Khan is working as Associate Professor at the Department of Horticulture, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Pakistan, involved in teaching and research activities in undergraduate and graduate level degree programs. Dr. Ali completed his PhD in field of Horticulture from Beijing Key Laboratory of Development and Quality Control of Ornamental Crops, Department of Ornamental Horticulture, China Agricultural University, Beijing, China. He obtained his undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree in Horticulture from The University of Agriculture in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prior to getting faculty position at AWKUM in 2016, he served Ministry of Agriculture, Kyber Pakhtunkhwa as a Research Officer in Research Department. His area of research relates to Development and Quality Control of Ornamental Crops utilizing genetic and molecular approaches. Identification and functional genomics analysis of genes regulating plant tolerance to different abiotic stresses including Water and Ethylene stress, with specific focus on ethylene transduction and water stress pathways in functional plant analysis. Additionally, considering the present scenario of urban environmental pollution, new sustainable remedial approach of introducing Ornamental plants and tress having pollution mitigating ability in the landscape plan as source of aesthetic improvement for urban-landscape along with environment mitigation agent by controlling airborne particulate pollution in urban climate. Furthermore, also working on a very novel Non-pharmacological and Non-invasive treatment approach medically beneficial to the well being of hospital patients, technically known as Horticulture therapy. |
