Abid is a Lecturer of Global Development with an overall interest in the dynamics of social and political changes, the politics of governance, international development, and peace and conflict. Prior to joining AWKUM in 2013, he worked as a consultant at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), based in Islamabad and has worked as consultant on projects for UNDP and UNWomen. He completed a PhD at the University of Bath, in 2018, which focused on the everyday politics of local elites (tribal chiefs, new political actors) engaged in institutional reform, change, and tran-sition in the volatile FATA region of Pakistan. He has over 10 years experience of teaching in a range of universities in the UK, UAE, and Pakistan.
