Dr. Ali has served Qurtuba University Peshawar for 4 years and Kohat University of Science & Technology for 6 years in the capacity of teacher. During teaching career, he also performs administrative functions in all the three universities i.e., Qurtuba, KUSTand AWKUM. He remained Deputy Registrar establishment and Public Relations Officer at KUST for quite some time in addition to his own duty. He worked as Chairperson for six years, Coordinator of Main Campus for 4 years, Director Administrator for one Month, HoD Psychology for almost two years. Dr. Ali has completed a total of five projects in which two are awarded by HEC (one as PI and the other as Co-PI) while two from world relief (Phase I & II) and one by SDPI under resilient development program of US department of State on the Post-conflict reconstruction in Malakand Division, Pakistan: Community resilience and rebuilding society. In a visit to the US he presented his research work in the 22nd Annual International conference organized by American Association of Behavioural Social Sciences (AABSS 2019) held on February 25-26, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He wrote a research article in collaboration with Dr. Uttaran Dutta, Assistant Professor in Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, Arizona State University (ASU) on “Gandhi and Bacha Khan moral education” which is published in a special issue of Education Sciences journal of MDPI. Dr. Ali also delivered a lecture on Bacha Khan and nonviolence to the undergraduate students of the same school in ASU. His area of interest is Pakhtun political history, Pakhtunwali, criminal justice system, violence, conflicts, terrorism, and post-war reconstruction. He along with a dynamic team of reserachers from Pakistan and UK is submitting a project on climate change and just transition to the British Academy of Knowledge.
