mujahidshah@awkum.edu.pk Dr. Mujahid Shah is an accomplished academic, researcher, and higher education leader, currently serving as an Associate Professor of English at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM), Pakistan. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, where his research explored translanguaging practices, identity construction, and academic discourse in multilingual settings. He also earned an MA in English Language Studies from Cardiff University, UK. Dr. Mujahid brings over a decade of extensive teaching and research experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His academic interests lie in academic and disciplinary writing, sociolinguistics, language and identity, and the integration of AI-driven tools in English language instruction. He has designed and delivered a wide range of courses and workshops focused on academic writing, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and language pedagogy in multilingual contexts. In addition to his teaching and research accomplishments, Dr. Mujahid has held a number of key administrative and leadership roles, including Additional Director of Academics and Research and head of the department & Coordinator USEFP, Outreach Center Hazra University. He also served as Project Coordinator for the Microaccess Scholarship Program, funded by the U.S. Government, where he successfully managed a multidisciplinary team and oversaw the implementation of inclusive education initiatives. Dr. Mujahid is an active contributor to the global academic community. He has attended and presented his research at numerous international conferences in Asia and Europe, where he shared insights on academic writing, language policy, and multilingual education. He has published around 50 research papers in highly reputed National and International Journals. His scholarly work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, with notable articles including “Translanguaging in Academic Settings” and “Code-Switching Practices and Identity Construction in Pakistan”, co-authored with leading scholars in the field.He has supervised 25 MPhil students in their research. He has supervised more than 25 students in their MPhil research. With a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, educational innovation, and inclusive pedagogical practices, Dr. Mujahid continues to contribute to the advancement of English studies and academic literacy across diverse academic and cultural contexts.. In 2010, He was selected by State Department, US under a Program SUSI/Fulbright Short Scholar Program. His main area of interest remains sociolinguistic/Applied Linguistics, particularly Investigation of multilingual practices, including multilingual practices and Identity construction, multilingual practices in pedagogic context and so on |
